Return times for products sold by Amazon may vary, and customers should check the specific product type for any extended return policies. If a seller’s listing is eligible for Amazon Prime, it will be subject to the same return policies as items fulfilled by Amazon.

Customers who have received a refund but are expected to return an item may file a return request. It should be emphasized that failure to return an item that was expected to be returned may result in a fee. The Amazon Seller Refund Process

Amazon's seller refund policy covers two main scenarios: When the item is returned or when you choose a non-return refund, allowing the buyer to keep the item. It is important to issue a refund promptly, ideally within two business days of receiving the returned item. Failure to do so may result in Amazon stepping in, refunding the buyer and charging that amount to your seller account.


Before issuing a refund for a return request, sellers should wait until they receive the item back from the buyer. However, if the buyer is allowed to keep or discard the item, the refund can be issued without waiting for the return. If the item is returned damaged or in a different condition than when sent, the seller has the right to issue a partial refund. You should communicate this decision to the buyer in advance to avoid misunderstandings or potential A to Z Warranty claims. Additionally, the seller may issue a partial refund for reasons such as the item description being accurate or if the buyer no longer wants the item or made an ordering error.
